| Abstract: | SUMARRIES. A report is given on the efforts of some libraries (U.S. and GB) to construct or to initiate the construction of a direct copying machine that avoids damage to the binding as it may happen if tighly bound books with narrow inner margins are pressed face down to the glass plate of normal machines. It is necessary to construct face up copiers with books cradles, and possibly the future solution of the problem will come from the laser copier coupled with digital scanning. |
