| Summary: | SUMMARIES. The article discusses the origins of the microfilm technique in Poland which was first used in the 1930s and later developed after 1948. Next, it discusses the basic applications of the microfilm, such as preservation, protection, supplementing library collections and publications. It concludes an outline of a draft programme of regionalisation of microfilming of 19th-and 20th centuries' collections in order to bring about its intensification and to apply it to the entire publishing output dating from those years. |
