| Abstrakt: | CONCLUSION. Different types of hydroxypropylated starches proved suitable for the preparation of films with high transparency. By using the slurry and paste method for hydroxy-propylation of starches, high-molar-mass products with different solution structures can be obtained. The higher content of supermolecular structures in concentrated aqueous solutions of slurry products influenced rheologi-cal and film-casting properties. The storage stability of HP-starches from different starch varieties is highly dependent on amylose content. To produce films with relatively high mechanical strength and flexibility plus high transparency, HP-starch with a high amylose content obtained by the paste method is preferred. The choice of starch variety, derivatisation method and degree of purification of the hydroxypropylated product will depend on the intended application. |
