| Abstract: | SUMMARIES. A review of the decay of cellulose and its chemical causes is presented. The outlook for the chemical process (DEZ) that the Library of Congress has selected to fight this decay is given. The engineering problems that have delayed installation of the Library's facility (planned to deacidify one million books per year) are noted. |
