| Abstrakt: | CONCLUSION. GC-MS proved to be an adapted technique to analyse the gum and the tannin present in iron gall ink. Complementary extraction procedures can usefully be employed to detect the sugars present in the polymeric chains, and the volatile compounds emitted during the ageing. The preliminary analysis performed on laboratory probes shows that Gum Arabic is very sensitive to the presence of iron sulphate in the paper. |
