| Abstract: | SUMMARIES.Matt coated papers have a rough surface, which scatters light, giving the matt appearance. They are used above all to reduce reflective glare when reading and to create impressive contrast between matt surface of paper and gloss surface of ink layer. Disadvantage of the matt surface is low abrasion resistance. We used three types of matt coated papers (with one, too and three coating layers) and special ink for offset printing on matt coated papers to determine their printing properties. We investigate abrasion resistance of printed samples and the effect of varnish application (in different interval after printing) on the increase of rub resistance. |
