| Abstract: | CONCLUSION. The lamination improves paper mechanical properties and pH as well as alkaline reserve during subsequent accelerated ageing. The difference between observed parameters of nonpre-treated and only washed paper seemed as insufficient. Therefore the neutralization is necessary to use as a pre-treatment method. Double-sided lamination provides satisfactory material reinforcement, however raises costs and/or reduces productivity. The layer of UV curable varnish induces decline in paper whiteness, but considerably improves mechanical properties (more than 100 %) with minimal changes in thickness of document even for documents with light pre-history. It was also observed, that measured characteristics are not effected by further ageing; moreover they are possibly improved by post-curing reactions. |
