Do nemčiny prácu preložil lekár sliezskeho pôvodu Melchior Sebisch (1539 - 1625). Kniha je odbornou príručkou ako budovať systém majerského hospodárstva. Autori podávajú spôsob, ako sa venovať pestovaniu poľnohospodárskych rastlín, chovu dobytka, ako zakladať úžitkové a okrasné záhrady, ako sa zaoberať lesným a rybným hospodárstvom. Okrem toho sa tu nachádzajú informácie o pečení chleba a príprave jedál; poslednou kapitolou je ochrana majera pred vlkmi a jeho lov. Táto rozsiahla publikácia vyšla v Štrasburgu v tlačiarni Berharda Jobina roku 1580 a je doplnená početnými drevorezovými ilustráciami. Kniha pochádza zo šľachtickej knižnice Zaiovcov a je ojedinelým exemplárom vo fonde doteraz spracovaných tlačí 16. storočia (cca 10000 zv.)na Slovensku Publication dealing with agriculture was written by a French polyhistor, botanist, garden designer, physician, and publisher, Charles Estienne (1504-1564); it was later amended and expanded by a French scholar and physician, Jean Liebaut (1535-1596). It was translated into German by a physician of Silesian origin, Melchior Sebisch (1539-1625). The book is an expert handbook on how to build a system of farmstead. The authors are offering a way to cultivate agricultural plants, animal husbandry, how to build gardens for food or for decorative purposes, and how to take care of forest economics and fishbreeding. Besides that there can be found information on baking bread and cooking; last chapter is devoted to guarding a farm against wolfs and hunting them. This large work was published in Strasbourg in the printing office of Berhard Jobin in 1580 and it is complemented with many woodcuts. The book comes from the aristocratic library of Zay family and it is the only exemplar in the collection of catalogued prints of the 16th century (about 10,000 vol.) in Slovakia |
